This quick guide is designed for Promise Neighborhood parents to find out about early learning opportunities for their young children: home-visiting programs, early child care centers and home care, and pre-kindergarten. Bright Beginnings

An extension of Help Me Grow, Bright Beginnings is a home-visiting program focusing on a child’s healthy development from pregnancy until kindergarten. Provides two home visits per month plus child activities and parenting skills. Now offering a Central location at Friendly Inn.

Home-visitation and early-intervention programs for pregnant women through when the child turns three years. Offers vision, hearing, nutrition tests and new parenting skills, safety checklist and links to other services.

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

A home-based program for CMHA families with children ages 3 to 6 who live in Carver Park, Cedar, King Kennedy or Outhwaite. Supports parents in their critical role as their child’s first and most important teacher.

Pregnant moms get home visits until their baby reaches age 2. Women in the program receive health education, help in picking doctors for her & baby, provides transportation to doctor visits for check-ups, connect with others for needed services.

Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids (SPARK) is a free in-home program for 3- and 4-year-old children to help them learn and practice skills they will need to be successful in kindergarten. New books every month, fun at-home activities including supplies, backpacks with school supplies to start kindergarten, parenting tips and transition to kindergarten information.
