East Tech scholars receive $2M in scholarships

Promise has proudly awarded scholarships to 12 scholars in East Tech High School’s graduating class of 2018, offering a boost to get them started on the next step of their education journey.

In an awards ceremony at East Tech High School, Promise Engagement Manager Joe Black and Education Performance Manager Richaun Bunton were joined by Promise Ambassador Dolores Gray to present the scholarships to the students, many of whom received additional awards from the school and community organizations.promiseschols3

Seniors Sampson Deal and Shaleia Howard received full rides – Deal to Eastern Michigan University and Howard to Cleveland State University. In total, students received two million dollars in scholarship funding.

Senior Donald White received the Principal’s Award, and the ceremony honored the class officers of 2018 and presented new class officers for 2019.
